As an accomplished trial lawyer and victims’ advocate, Amanda Persons brings invaluable insight and experience to the Persons Firm. Raised in Union City, Tennessee, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee in 1996. Mrs. Persons then received her J.D. from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 2000. She began her legal career with a two year clerkship as staff attorney for Superior Court Judge George Kreeger gaining valuable experience in both the civil and criminal arena. She then began working as an Assistant District Attorney in Cobb County. After several successful felony criminal trials, Mrs. Persons was promoted to special victims prosecution with the Crimes Against Women and Children division. There she was responsible for the prosecution of major felony crimes such as rape, child molestation, aggravated stalking and murder.
Mrs. Persons left the Cobb County District Attorneys Office in 2006 and is an Attorney of Counsel with the Persons Firm. Beyond the practical and hands on experience prosecution has given her, these years as a prosecutor give her a unique view into the effect crimes and other legal matters have on victims and the parties involved. Mrs. Persons is a mother of three and an active member of Marietta’s First United Methodist Church.
